FAMILY STORY TIME AT THE ALBANY INSTITUTE OF HISTORY & ART

Tales of Birds & Beasts is a special story time partnership with the Albany Public Library

 

ALBANY, NEW YORK– This fall, the Albany Institute of History & Art is partnering with the Albany Public Library to present special story time at the museum on select Saturday mornings. Inspired by the museum’s current exhibitions A Menagerie of Whimsey: The Art of William B. Schade and Birds & Beasts: The Scary, Magical, and Adorable Animals of the Albany Institute, the story time program will feature stories about animals.

 

Albany Public Library staff will host these story times at the museum on select Saturdays from 10:30am-11am. There will be tales of birds and beasts for children 0 to 5 and their families. Attendees will enjoy tales of caterpillars, unicorns, polar bears. There will also be a sing-along to songs and rhymes.

 

Story time dates and times:

-          Saturday, September 8 | 10:30am - 11:00am

-          Saturday, September 22 | 10:30am - 11:00am

-          Saturday, October 13 | 10:30am - 11:00am

-          Saturday, October 27 | 10:30am - 11:00am

-          Saturday, November 10 | 10:30am - 11:00am

-          Saturday, December 1 | 10:30am - 11:00am

The Albany Institute of History & Art is located at 125 Washington Avenue in Albany, New York. Free parking is available in the museum’s lot at the corner of Elk and Dove Streets.

The museum is open Wednesday 10am-5pm, Thursday 10am-8pm, Friday 10am-5pm, Saturday 10am-5pm, and Sunday noon-5pm. The Museum Café and Museum Shop are also open Wednesday- Sunday and the hours are available on our website. The Research Library is open on Thursdays from 1pm-4:30pm and by appointment.

 Current admission rates are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and students with ID, $6 for children aged 6-12, and free for children under 6. Albany Institute members are admitted for free. There is no charge to visit the café or museum shop. The museum offers free admission to the galleries on Thursdays from 5pm-8pm and on the First Fridays of the month from 5pm-8pm.
