7 Ways for your local Business to thrive

Albany NY's Tips for Business growth

By Trezelle Morgain - Albany MacKid publisher. November 7, 2022

Thriving as a local business has many unique challenges. Some of which I have experienced firsthand. I'm reaching out with 7 ways you can optimize & extend your reach. Stay until the end of this email for some valuable resources, just for you!

  1. Organize your Time.
    1. As a small business owner time is always of the essence, figuring out how to use your time will save you alot of "unsure" time. Somethings you can add to your schedule (social Media Planning, Admin Tasks, Financial Tasks & Outlook, Client calls/outreach, etc) Check this resource out - print it & use it if you find it helpful.
  2. Document your process.
    1. Using a business journal can help you with documenting your process so that when you get to the point of needing to delegate, everything you need is already laid out for the person you will be handing things to.
  3. Create a list of "chosen cheerleaders".
    1. I found that this is an amazing & needed thing to have as an entrepreneur. Knowing who is in your corner & leaning on them for support doesn't make you weak or needy. It's a strength. Today, I challenge you to connect with 3-5 people who have supported you along your journey & crown them as your "cheerleader". Invite them into the process of your journey. You are never alone.
  4. Find local resources & communities with the same goals.
    1. There are A LOT of amazing local entrepreneurship spaces that you can grow within. Places like linkedin, & alignable are great places to find groups that connects with your core mission & objectives. If you're looking to become a member of a great new holistic life & business community with free resources, opportunities for growth & connection reply with "Business Around Albany" & a unique invitation will be sent to you.
  5. Get to know your objectives.
    1. Knowing what you want out of your business, gives you insight into how you want to operate. Knowing your objectives keeps you firm in your boundaries, morals & life goals. Take the time to figure out what your overall business objectives are, what your marketing objectives are, etc.
  6. Build strategies, test them & go with what works for YOU!
    1. Creating strategies within your business reminds you of what has worked & how you can replicate it. What are your marketing strategies? What are your client acquisition strategies? Have you taken the time to think about it? If not, there goes this week's homework.
  7. Don't be afraid to fail!
    1. I'm sure we've all been scared of starting something new or pushing past boundaries that have kept us captive. However, not going after what you want, & not testing to find out how it can work out will only hold you back. Jump, even if it's scarry. Jump, even if you think you're alone.
